Tomorrow in New York City, the 2011 Black Girls Rock! Awards will be recorded at the historical Paradise Theater and is scheduled to air on BET, Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 8pm/7pm CST.
Founded by DJ Beverly Bond, Black Girls Rock! is dedicated to promoting positive images of women of color in mass media. Last year was the first time the Awards broadcast on BET, and it was a phenomenal addition to their programming.
This year’s event will honor Angela Davis with an Icon Award, Shirley Caesar with the Living Legend Award, Taraji P. Henson will receive the Star Power Award, Laurel J. Richie will receive the Shot Caller Award, Tatyana Ali with the Young, Black & Gifted Award, Imani Walker and Malika Saada Saar will both receive the Trailblazer Award.
