Today marks the 10th anniversary of R&B Singer, Aaliyah Dana Haughton’s death after a tragic plane accident that also took the life of Anthony Dodd, Eric Foreman, Scott Gallin, Keith Wallace, Gina Smith, Douglas Kratz, Christopher Maldonada and Louis Morales III.
Aaliyah was born in Brooklyn and raised in Detroit, Michigan. When she burst onto the scene with the R. Kelly produced album Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number, it was evident she was headed to superstar status.
She had a number of singles that topped the charts and are still fan favorites today, One in A Million, Rock the Boat, If Your Girl Only Knew, 4 Page Letter, Back and Forth, We Need a Resolution, Try Again, Are You That Somebody the list goes on and on. By the age of 22, she already had two feature films under her belt and was postured to take her brand to another level.
