It was my first opportunity to attend and report from the Stellar Awards; I had an absolutely awesome time! The press room stayed busy, I enjoyed meeting so many colleagues, and the opportunity to capture photos of my favorite gospel artists! The photo set features my picks of the night for fashion, although I am limited to only ten photos, in this space.
Pictured in the photo set are CeCe Winans, who made simple black look simply divine; Dorinda Clark-Cole aka Sista BAMM! enough said; forever Jones, who brought it ALL; JJ Hairston, whose performance was a show highlight, Meagan Good is more beautiful in person, the picture above does NO justice, she was FLAWLESS, that gown moved like she had fans installed underneath, she’s wins Best Dressed Female! Honorable mention to Vickie Winans, who wore a mirrored jacket and had the Best Shoe Game of the evening!
Omari Hardwick, actor most recently seen in For Colored Girls; the Neville Sisters, captivated the whole photo room with their presence and style; the Soul Seekers, showed up and showed out in all red suits; VaShawn Mitchell, gave me his GQ pose, and in my opinion was the Best Dressed Male of the evening; and finally the Voices of Destiny, California’s regional How Sweet the Sound winners, beyond their dress, they gave us awesome poses, they receive the Best Dressed Group top nod!
I have to also shout-out two incomparable stylists. The infamous Carlton Spence, he’s worked with Marvin Sapp, Shirley Ceasar and a host of others; and also Jason Bolin, who is responsible for Vashawn Mitchell’s fierce styling.
There’s SO much that goes into these productions behind the scenes. Overall, I was happy and thankful to be a part of this year’s Awards!! <3
